IBS.BFSU Hosted Meet & Greet for 2024 Spring Intake International Students

On March 5, International Business School of Beijing Foreign Studies University (IBS.BFSU) held the 2024 Spring International Students and Faculty Meeting (Meet&Greet) in the Chendu Hall of the East Campus. Dean Niu Huayong, Assistant Dean Dong Lili, International Accounting and Financial Management faculty member Xu Ling, Director of Student Affairs Office Li Yike, Undergraduate Teaching Office Supervisors Zhang Hongjiao and Chen Pengyu, Student Affairs Office Supervisor Zou Kang, International Student Office Supervisor Zhao Huiyue, and around 70 freshmen attended the event.



At the beginning of the event, Niu Huayong welcomed the new students from 21 countries on behalf of the school. In his speech, he  encouraged students to focus on their studies,improve their professional skills during their study in China, uphold the spirit of ‘being a business talent with global perspective’ in their study and life, work hard to make progress and expand their global vision. At the same time, the students were encouraged to improve Chinese proficiency, go to different cities of China more often and explore Chinese culture.



Dong Lili expressed her congratulations and welcome to the students on their successful entry into the university.She said that the new students should cultivate good study and living habits, be punctual and responsible. She also interacted with the new students, encouraging them to share their experiences of studying in China.


Xu Ling gave advice to students on study planning, and took the 24 solar terms "Jingzhe" as an example to motivate them to seize the opportunity and make effective use of their study time at the beginning of the school year.



Gabriel, the representative of senior students from Brazil, talked about his personal experience of studying in China and encouraged the freshmen to explore deeper, try more, challenge more, actively participate in activities, get to know new friends and enrich their after-school life. He also expressed his gratitude to the university and the school for providing a high-quality international learning platform.



Eliane, the representative of new students from Belgium, expressed her gratitude for the help provided by the faculty and students of the school, and her expectation for the life of studying abroad, encouraging that everyone should make good use of this precious experience to realise the value of life.



Afterwards, the Student Affairs Office, the Undergraduate Teaching Office and the International Students Office of IBS.BFSU provide more detailed guidance on life in China, academic affairs for the new students respectively.


This meeting aims to facilitate the new students to understand and adapt to the IBS.BFSU community and make clear plans for their future study; through the interaction between teachers and students it further deepens the students' identification with and love for IBS.BFSU.
