BFSU Held New Year Symposium for International Faculty and Students

On 2nd February 2024, Beijing Foreign Studies University held a symposium for international students and faculty on the occasion of the 2024 Chinese New Year. Representatives of international teachers and students who stayed on campus during the holidays were invited. Jia Wenjian, Vice President of BFSU, and He Jing, Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, attended the symposium. The symposium was hosted by Li Maolin, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Director of the Overseas Students Affairs Office.


On behalf of the university, Jia Wenjian sent his New Year greetings and blessings to the international teachers and students. He emphasised the importance of cross-cultural educational exchanges and encouraged international teachers and students to savour the Chinese culture in an immersive way with an attitude of inclusiveness, communication and learning. He said that the university will organise more innovative and attractive activities for international teachers and students so as to better enhance the communication and integration between Chinese and foreign teachers and students. He Jing fully affirmed the work and study achievements of international teachers and students. She said that the university will continue to provide more convenience and support for international teachers and students, and she also encouraged international teachers and students to be excellent BFSUers and make greater contributions to humanistic exchanges between China and the world.


Representatives of international teachers and students shared their life in BFSU, their feelings and understanding of Chinese culture, as well as their expectations for the Chinese New Year of Dragon. They used vivid language to describe their struggles and gains in China, showing the charm and achievements of international education in BFSU.


This symposium is not only an exchange between university, faculty and students, but also a cross-cultural learning, which enhances mutual understanding. The university will continue to hold similar activities and make unremitting efforts to build a more harmonious and warm international campus.
