On October 24th, Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, led a delegation to visit Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). Yang Dan, President of BFSU and Sun Youzhong, Vice President of BFSU, met with Stanislav and his delegation.

During the meeting, Yang Dan discussed potential areas of collaboration and suggested focusing on master's level dual-degree programs in the field of energy economics and management. This initiative aims to offer students more diverse and international exchange opportunities, including studying abroad, internships, and practical experiences. He also expressed the hope that both universities would actively promote cooperation on multilingual journals to facilitate academic research exchange between China and Russia. Sun Youzhong highlighted the strong foundation and extensive consensus for cooperation between the two universities. He proposed expanding teacher collaboration, jointly fostering programs in Russian language studies and business-related disciplines, and establishing mechanisms for students to engage in overseas social and practical experiences. He also extended an invitation to experts from Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation to join BFSU's global country and area studies community, thereby promoting the development of country and area studies and enhancing economic, trade, cultural, and educational exchanges between China and Russia.

Stanislav Prokofiev provided an overview of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, expressing appreciation for the outstanding achievements of BFSU over the years. He enthusiastically responded to the shared desire of both universities to increase teacher and student exchanges, open joint-degree programs, expand summer practical programs, collaborate on textbook development, and contribute to talent development for the "Belt and Road" initiative. He also pledged to recommend experts to participate in the construction of the global country and area studies community.

Ekaterina Kamneva, Vice President of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, gave full recognition to the teaching quality at BFSU and expressed a desire to expand exchanges between the two institutions, implement joint education mechanisms as soon as possible, and look forward to a long-term and fruitful cooperation with BFSU.

Li Chunli, Chairman of International Business School Committee, introduced the basic information about the school and expressed her hope that the meeting would deepen the collaborative relationship between the two universities and enhance mutual understanding of language, culture, and economics between students from both countries. Dong Lili, Member of International Business School Committee and Director of International Student Office, provided detailed information about study in China programs for international students.

The meeting was attended by Sergey Shakhrai, Scientific Supervisor of International Economics Relations Faculty at Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation; Liliya Prikhodko, Head of International Relations Department; and Kirill Kroshkov, Head of Executive Office. From BFSU, participants included He Jing, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office; Dai Guiju, Dean of School of Russian; and Miao Shu, Deputy Dean of School of Russian, among others.
