On March 30, the International Business School held the launch ceremony of the 2024 Spring Semester International Student Extended Family Program at West Campus. A total of 80 people, including the Assistant Dean, the Director of the International Students Office Dong Lili, the Director of the International Students Affairs Office Zou Kang, and the International Students Union of IBS.BFSU (IBS Union), Chinese families and overseas students participated in the event.

At the beginning, Dong Lili, on behalf of the school, welcomed the 31 Chinese families and international students. In her speech, she said that cross-cultural communication is not only beneficial to language learning but also to broaden horizons and knowledge. The charm of Extended Family activities is to allow international students from different countries and cultural backgrounds to have diversified exchanges and interactions with Chinese families so that students can truly enter the Chinese family and have a deeper understanding and exploration of Chinese culture.

Zhang Fuzhong from Myanmar, as the representative of the international students, expressed his gratitude to the school for providing a platform for cross-cultural communication. Secondly, he shared his personal experience of participating in the previous semester and encouraged students to cherish the communication opportunities, open their hearts, and respect each other in the process of getting along with Chinese families.

As a representative of the Chinese Family, Mrs. Wang Ling shared her experience of participating in the previous Extended Family from many aspects, such as family introduction, activity arrangement and activity suggestions, and encouraged each family to exchange experience with each other and actively share their stories with international students.

Afterwards, the activity set up an interactive game for the students and their Chinese families to know each other and actively exchange and share.

This activity not only enhanced the mutual understanding and friendship between international students and Chinese families, but also built a platform for multicultural exchanges, promoted cross-cultural interaction and enhanced cultural identity. In the future, we will further expand the participation and influence of the event, make it a popular brand activity for international students, and contribute to telling Chinese stories, promoting cultural mutual learning, and enhancing friendship.
