Lecture Entreupreneurship was held

On May 26, 2015, IBS invited Mr. Colin Campbell, one of North America's best-known internet infrastructure serial entrepreneurs, to present a talk on his lifetime of learning about startup culture.

Dr. NIU Huayong, the IBS Dean, met Mr. Colin Campbell and his team at the new BFSU International Building yesterday. Dr. NIU Huayong extended his welcome to Mr. Colin Campbell and his team and hoped that his lecture could inspire the students. After knowing more about both IBS and the .CLUB team’s vision and mission, both sides exchanged the ideas about the opportunities of cooperation.

Mr. Colin Campbell’s lecture was held at the Multifunctional Hall of IBS building. Professors and students attended the lecture. Mr. Campbell talked about how he launched his many successful startup companies including Internet Direct, Tucows, Hostopia Geeks for Less, and .CLUB Domains. With a brochure introducing the outline of the lecture, the audience found this lecture very interesting and inspiring. What interested the audience most was the five steps to start up:  finding the right people and empowering effective teams, raising capital from western investors, inventing and implementing systems to drive powerful growth, branding and marketing to support fast and wide market acceptance, digital marketing must-haves including the effective use of new domain name extensions for startups.

Mr. Colin Campbell’s lecture is of great benefit to the audience wishing to gain efficient insight into the main concepts, practices, expectations and key terminology of startup culture. The audience has gained a working vocabulary of North American startup business practices, which will empower them to more fully participate in the Chinese Dream.
