Presidents, experts and scholars from more than 40 renowned universities spanning 14 countries convened in Xi'an, China to discuss topics including language, civilization and building a community of shared future for mankind.
The 2rd Presidents' Forum of the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities (GAFSU), co-organized by Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and Xi’an International Studies University (XISU), was held on September 25 and 26, 2019, with more than 200 participants.
Yan Guohua, vice president of Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), attended the Forum representing the executive council of GAFSU.
Established in 2015, GAFSU is an open, non-profit, non-corporate, voluntary body of well-known universities specialized in foreign language teaching, research and regional studies. 14 Chinese universities including Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and Beijing International Studies University and 16 countries from other countries have joined the GAFSU as its founding members. GAFSU serves as a platform for educational cooperation to facilitate foreign language teaching and research, country and regional studies as well as people-to-people exchange under the principles of solidarity, mutual trust, and win-win cooperation.
The 3rd Forum will be scheduled in Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) in 2021.
