IBS Scholarship Application Instruction


Dear everyone,

Students in classes of 2015 fall, 2016 fall, and 2017 fall can apply for the IBS Belt and Road scholarship now. The rankings will be based on the applicants’ overall performance during the academic year of 2017 fall to 2018 spring.

Applicants need to fill out their information carefully. The applicant takes complete responsibility on the authenticity of the documents and testimonials submitted. In the event of non-authenticity of the submitted testimonials, the Scholarship Assessment Committee has the right to revoke 100% of the scholarship amount and the student is fully liable in this case.

Applicant Requirement


  1. Only degree-seeking students enrolled at BFSU-SolBridge (or students who have been granted admission to a degree course) are eligible for BFSU-SolBridge scholarships. Scholarship applicants should at all times adhere to the following conditions in order to guarantee their candidacy:


    1. Abide by national laws and University regulations and avoid bringing the University’s name and reputation into disrepute.
    2. Be actively involved in academic and extracurricular activities and promote healthy camaraderie among fellow students.
    3. Maintain a high level of academic performance in all enrolled courses and regularly attend classes.
    4. Be available for administrative class duties and occasional promotional activities for University programs.
  2. Students’ application will not be accepted in the following instances (during the academic year of 2017 fall to 2018 spring): 


    1. Students violate national laws or University regulations and receive a written Censure letter or other forms of penalties.
    2. Students repeat courses due to weak academic performance.
    3. Students fail to acquire necessary credits during assessment year.
    4. Students are not allowed to take final exams, fail or are absent in the final exams for any course (with the exception of being sick) during assessment year.
    5. Students took re-sit or make-up exams.
    6. Students won the CSC scholarship (Outstanding Overseas Students Studying in China) in the academic year of 2018.
    7. Students were on exchange programs in the academic year of 2017 fall to 2018 spring (one or/and two semester/s).
    8. Students are with full scholarship granted by Chinese government.

Application Process

1.        Scholarship Tiers and Award Amounts  

The following scholarship tiers will be available to qualified students:

  1. Undergraduates:

      First tier scholarship:

      CNY 10, 000 /Academic Year (Awarded to 5% of students every year); Second tier scholarship:

 CNY 8, 000 /Academic Year (Awarded to 10% of students every year); Third tier scholarship:

CNY 5, 000 /Academic Year (Awarded to 15% of students every year);

2) Postgraduates:


CNY 12, 000/Academic Year (Awarded to 5% of students every year);

CNY 10, 000/Academic Year (Awarded to 10% of students every year)

2.        Ranking

Your performance in the previous academic year of 2017 fall to 2018 spring will be evaluated. Scholarships are limited and qualified applicants will be screened according to a range of predetermined criteria which compose the Overall Assessment Grades.

Elements weighted are listed below.


Overall Assessment Grades =Average Grades of the Academic Year (80%) +

Attendance (10%) + Extra Points (10%)

  1. Average Grades of the Academic Year

Average Grades of the Academic Year is calculated using a student’s academic transcript results issued by the Academic Affairs Office.

  1. Attendance Assessment

The class attendance value is calculated according to Attendance Record Charts by Teaching Affairs office.

  1. Extra Points

Extra points are evaluated on your performance and participation in activities during the academic year of 2017 fall to 2018 Spring. Extra Points are divided into FOUR parts: 1) being student leaders; 2) participating activities at or above BFSU level; 3) being Student Ambassador and 4) being IBS Supporters. Supportive documents in hard copies are indispensable for getting extra points.

During the assessed academic year, an applicant who assumed more than one leading posts in IBSUnion gets extra points of only one post, and the extra point is the higher one among all of his/her posts on the basis of the extra points standard, for example, if she/he was the President as well as the head of any IBSUnion division in the assessed academic year, she or he gets extra point for being the President of IBSUnion solely.

During the assessed academic year, extra points for sport and other competitions at or above BFSU level are given based on the ranking of that competition, for example, one student attended BFSU CUP and won the first prize during the assessed academic year, he/she gets 0.5 for extra point.

  • Student Ambassador.

Extra Point standards for being Student Ambassador are issued by IBS Marketing office. And staffs in IBS Marketing office will provide the name list of SA and the extra points (0-0.6 points) they get. For any detail, please reach staffs in IBS Marketing office.


  • IBS Supporters.

Extra Point standards for being Student Ambassador are issued by IBS Student Affairs office. And staff in IBS Student Affairs office will provide the certificate for IBS Supporters and the extra points they get. For any detail, please reach staff in IBS Student Affairs office.

3. Submitting  

In order to be awarded for scholarship, you should submit the “Scholarship Application Form”, “Checklist for Extra Points”, Academic Transcript (you should get it from Teaching Affairs office) and supporting documents for extra points in hard copies to 981 IB by 5:00 p.m., October 12th, 2018 during office hour (8:30 a.m.—11:30 a.m., 2:30p.m.—5:00p.m.)


If you checked no items on the checklist for extra points, you only need to submit the application form and your academic transcript to office 981 at due time.


The closing date is firm – no late applications will be accepted. 


4.  Announcing

The list of scholarship winners will be posted on notice board for 3 days along with the Scholarship Assessment Committee’s contact information.
