On January 12, 2015, a group of 47 Korean high school students from Daejeon Foreign Language High School (DFLHS) in Korea, led by Seo Byonghoon, Park Soon OK and Yun Sohee, three teachers from DFLHS, arrived at Beijing Capital International Airport and began their 2015 winter camp activity in Beijing. The 2015 winter camp was held by the International Business School, Beijing Foreign Studies University and it’s the third winter camp between IBS and DFLHS.

One of the goals of the winter camp is to provide opportunities for foreign students to have a closer look at China through visiting famous tourist sites and cultural heritages in Beijing, the capital and cultural and economic center of China, including Tiananmen Square, the Palace Museum, National Museum, Jing Mountain, Nanluoguxiang, the Great Wall, the Ming Tombs, the Olympic Sports Center, the Temple of Heaven, Qianmen Street and Laoshe Tea House.

Apart from visiting famous tourist attractions, the students also had chances to learn Chinese traditional culture by participating in activities such as Chinese classes, making dumplings with Chinese students, Taichi classes and Chinese traditional wedding ceremony organized by the IBS. In the Chinese classes, the students learned Chinese culture and got a booklet about travelling in China prepared by the Chinese teacher. The students also practiced their Chinese with the IBS Chinese students during the making dumplings activity. DFLHS students sat together with the IBS students, made dumplings and tasted the self-made dumplings first ever. On the meantime, by attending the Chinese traditional wedding ceremony and the Taichi classes, the students gained precious experiences which help them better understand China and Chinese culture.
